SWEDISH ETHYL ACETATE METHOD (SweEt Method)
STRENGTHS OF THE SWEDISH EXTRACTION TECHNIQUE
It has been developed for quantitative analysis of over 500 pesticides to be individually tested, for groups or by a multi-residual method.
It uses smaller volumes of solvent (EtAc, less toxic and safer) and provides extracts that are compatible with GC or LC injection methods.
It typically eliminates complicated cleanup steps and introduces very low concentrations of matrix components (proteins and sugar).
The method has been used to determine pesticides in fruits, vegetables, cereals and also in products of animal origin both type A and type B.
